Pico handled all aspects of interior decoration, exhibition and multimedia for the Vancouver UBPA Pavilion, which introduced the world to the communities, the people and the innovative ideas that earned the city a reputation for being one of the world’s most liveable cities. The building’s inventive structure showed the versatility of wood by combining conventional linear elements with unexpected spherical elements, and was designed entirely with green building materials. The pavilion was named the ‘Urban Sanctuary’, and the exhibits within reflected the importance of nature to Vancouver’s urban planners and citizens.
